Duck Raising Practices
Animal Welfare and biosecurity are extremely important aspects of the raising of our ducks. Our contract growers work hard to ensure standards are always maintained to the highest level. The ducks are protected from predators and extreme weather conditions by providing large air, open sided barns that are clean and dry. They have unlimited access to quality feed and water (for drinking and preening). Trained operators check the flocks several times each day to check that everything is in order.
Did you know that the ducks are constantly trying to make their litter wet so each day a new layer of clean dry shavings needs to be applied to the entire floor area to maintain the dry enviroment.
